Catch-up update
(non-BJJ post)
Haven’t been to the jits in a month!
Here’s what happened:
- First, I missed a class because of a social activity – a friend’s birthday party.
- I caught a cough, most likely during the party. I’m not going to roll with a communicable disease and so missed a few classes.
- As the cough was winding down, I wiped out on my longboard – a long skateboard. I did a hill for the first time, was going uncomfortably fast and so I tried to bail – jump off my board. I landed on my feet, immediately fell on my back and skidded along the pavement. I got a sizeable flesh wound on my arm. No way am I rolling with an open wound or even with big scabs near my elbow – the risk of the wound opening and getting someone else’s sweat into my bloodstream is too high!
And so that was it – the cough is gone and the wounds are healed – I was able to go to the jits last night. I’ll post about it later.
Here’s other things that happened during the break:
- I launched my new website, J3 Web Works, for doing web design and blog consulting. I have about 5 projects going on right now, but do please feel free to contact me if you have need a website
- I got on twitter, you can find me on Twitter.com/forlogos
- I officially have low back pain. It’s been building up slowly through the years no thanks to bad habits like slouching and general bad posture, but it has accelerated in the last several weeks. Now it’s a sharp pain. I’ve been doing back exercises and stretches for a month now. It helps a lot.
And that’s that.
