November 2008 goals review

My goal for November was to work on my guard game.  I managed to do that by aiming to play bottom as much as possible.  I did improve a lot and got some kudos on it, but I’m sure it would’ve improved a lot more if I did more drilling outside of class on specific guard techniques.

At this point, my guard is the strongest part of my game and I really want to even out my game a bit more.  I’d really like to focus on guard passing this December.  I’ve tended to go for the same pass again and again and I’m still having trouble with it.  Hopefully by focusing on passing this December I can correct the mistakes I make and can pick up one or two new pass techniques.  So…

Nice set of goals you have. I am working on opening my guard more and not going to my strengths, which is my guard as well.

      thanks Anthony!

I believe working on your weaknesses is the best way to improve and develop a well-rounded game.

Does that mean you’re working on open-guard or just other positions in general?
